Cambrian Mountains Initiative launches new preserves as sweet treat for St Valentine’s Day

The latest products from the Cambrian Mountains Initiative (CMI) food range inspired by HRH The Prince of Wales are a delicious Mixed Berry Preserve and Spiced Red Currant Jelly, both created by award-winning Suzanne Lloyd of Penlanlas Farm near Aberystwyth.

The Cambrian Mountains Mixed Berry Preserve is a delicious blend of locally grown strawberries, raspberries and red currants, all grown on Suzanne and Richard Lloyd’s traditional Welsh hill farm.

Meanwhile "Suzanne’s Cambrian Mountains Spiced Red Currant Jelly is the perfect accompaniment to a romantic St Valentine’s Day Welsh lamb meal for those staying in for the night," said Deanna Leven, CMI Business Manager.

Suzanne Lloyd has been making and selling her own brand of Cegin Suzanne preserves and has had a fantastic year in 2010, attracting a Gold award and two Silver at the ‘Wales the True Taste Awards’. The preserves are 100% natural and contain no concentrates, additives or preservatives.

"I am thrilled to be working with the Cambrian Mountains Initiative," said Suzanne, "Our farming and produce principles of supporting local communities and reducing food miles are in line with those of the initiative, as well as minimising the impact on the environment. We are excited about what the additional branding and marketing can do for us in expanding awareness of the region and the customer base for our products."
